This is a comprehensive acne program for any age and all skin types wanting a natural and progressive acne system. We use words like pimple, cystic, blackhead, whitehead and zit to describe acne, but most acne has the same primary cause. The cause of acne is dead skin, oil, soap and makeup, building up and clogging pores. Teens typically have problems with acne as they tend to have higher oil production, faster skin shedding, poor hygiene, faulty skin care and unbalanced diets. Not all acne occurs in teenagers though, it is also common for older adults to develop acne problems out of the blue. This writer has had serious bouts with acne, and it is noted in this article what preventative measures he recommends.

This is your guide to preventing and treating acne with an emphasis on prevention (it's easier to prevent it than it is to treat it).

1. Do Not Pop or Pick at Zits

This is the hardest point to follow, and the quickest way to cause greater problems and scarring. Again, don't touch pimples, spots or blemishes, it will only make the spot look worse and may cause future problems with acne. As a matter of fact, do not touch your face for any reason. By popping a zit it is possible to spread bacteria under the skin, cause a surface infection, or even create lifelong scarring. This point took me months to fix and helped significantly.

If I still haven't deterred you from popping a pimple, Please, read the following instructions carefully.

2. Beauty Sleep, Skin Repair and the Effects of a Dirty Pillowcase

One of the simplest, quickest and easiest methods to improve your skin is to change your sheets and pillowcase more frequently. Even turning your pillowcase inside out halfway between washes can help. This and getting regularly 7-9 hours of good sleep help improves immune function, keeps your face from producing too much oil, and gives your skin a time to repair itself. These basic methods disproportionately improve skin clarity, I highly recommend them.

3. Can you Believe step 3 is Wash and Exfoliate!?

Wash your face once or twice a day with a mild cleanser and dab it dry with a clean towel. From my experience harsh soaps and soaps with benzoyl peroxide only further irritate the skin and make acne worse. Using a dirty towel or wiping your face dry may cause irritation, especially if you're having a breakout.

While I don't exfoliate very often, it has been reported many times that people are successful with a water - brown sugar paste used to exfoliate the skin. Brown sugar may also have chemical properties that aid in prevention.

4. Keep Hair Clean and Away from Skin

Keeping your hair away from your facial skin and shampooing daily will be a major step toward freedom from acne. Dirt, oil and general irritation from hair is a common cause of acne.

5. An Apple a Day Keeps the Acne Away

Apple cider and organic apple cider vinegar are great sources for Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Vitamin P, B2, B6, Beta-Carotene and Vitamin C. These vitamins help prevent acne and repair skin damage. They are also great for your general health.

6. Other Dietary Considerations

Keeping a well balanced diet is a key of skin health. With skin being among the bodies largest organs, it is understandable that our diet directly affects skin quality. Eating a diet rich in fiber, Vitamin A and protein will not only improve skin quality but will also keep your weight under control. Drinking plenty of liquids, water and apple juice, will keep the skin hydrated and allow healthy skin cell life cycles. Avoiding dairy products and sugary sodas may help skin health.
